Maud was born in 1298 in Lancaster,Lancashire,England.  Maud's father was Henry Plantagenet Earl of Lancaster and her mother was Maud Chaworth.  Her paternal grandparents were "Crouchback" Earl Lancaster England Prince Edmund and of Artois, Queen of Navarre Blanche; her maternal grandparents were Patrick Chaworth Sir Knight and Isabel Beauchamp. She had a brother and four sisters, named Henry Grosmont, Blanche, Joan, Eleanor and Mary.  She was the second oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 79 on May 5th, 1377 in Campsey Abbey, Suffolk, England.  She was buried in Priory,Campsey,Suffolk,England.
