Marie was born in 1201 in Constantinople,Constantinople,Turkey.1 Marie's father was Emperor Philip II Duke of Sawbia and her mother was Irini Maria Angelina [Empress of Germ. Her paternal grandparents were , "Barbarossa" Holy Roman Empiror Friedrich I and Empress Of Holy Roman Empire Beatrix; her maternal grandparents were Isaac II Angelus Emp East Roman and Irene Comnena. She had three sisters named Kunigunde Princess of, Princess Elizabeth and of Germany. She had three half-sisters named Beatrice (Elizabeth), Maria and Cunegunda. She died at the age of 34 in 1235.1 -
