Elizabeth was born on October 8th, 1798 in ,Surry,Nc. Elizabeth's father was Stephen Hobson and her mother was Rachel Vestal. Her paternal grandparents were Stephen Hobson and Ann Barnes; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Vestal and Elizabeth Davis. She had six brothers and a sister, named William, David, George, Thomas, Stephen, Isaac and Anne. She is the third youngest of the eight children.-
