George was born in 1684 in Of Cropton, Yorkshire, England. George's father was George Hobson and his mother was Jane Jannetje Janse Strycker. His paternal grandparents are Richard Hobson and Ellen Sasells; his maternal grandfather was Jan Strijcker and his maternal grandmother is Lambertse Seubring. He had a half-sister named Angenietje. He died at the age of 64 in 1748 in ,Frederick,Va (now Wv).General Notes
