Bevis (Bogo) (Benet) De's father was Richard De Clare Earl of Gloucester and his mother was Maud Lacy Countess of Gloucester. His paternal grandparents were Gilbert de Clare , Sir, Earl of Gloucester 6th and Isabel Marshall Countess of Cornwall; his maternal grandparents were John Lacy Earl of Lincoln & Constable of Chester and Margaret Quincy Countess of Lincoln. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Gilbert "the Red Earl", Thomas De, Robert (Richard) De, Isabel De, Margaret De, Maud De, Roese (Rohesia) De and Eglentine De. He was the fourth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 46 in October 1294.-
