Amos was the first male child born in Sutton, MA. His wife Mary Curtis
was from Topsfield, MA. They were members of the First Congreational
Church. ln 1743 a meeting was held in Richard Singeletary's home to start
the Second Cong. Church in the North part of Sutton, which became
Millbury, MA in 1813, and then this church became the First Church of
Millbury. Amos was born on his fathers mill lot, which is a tact of land
of 116 acres, lying along the shores of a beautifull lake called
"Sing letary Lake" of 600 acres, part in Sutton and part of Millbury. Amos
never at tened school, but became a well educated man  of his own. He was
a rep. and w as in the Senate. He was a Justice of the Peace and Quorms.
He wasan earnest Christian, and true patriot, during the great struggle
for American independe nce, he equipped a Co. of men and spent a fortune
in this cause. They are bur ied in the Town Cemm. in Millbury.
