His paternal grandparents were Richard Singletary and Susannah Cook; his maternal grandparents were Abraham Belknap and Mary Stallion. He was an only child. John was born and settled in Haverhill, MA, untill 1709 and then removed
to Farmington, where he bought ro acres of land north of Stoney Brooke.
About 1720 they removed to Sutton, MA. He bought land and lived in
Sailsbury, MA in 1709 on the west side of the mounta in. He built the Old
Littlefield House, sold it in 1720 to Samuel Moore and m oved to Sutton,
>A. on 10 Sep. 1747 he signed the conent establishing the 2nd Cong.
Church of Sutton (now Millbury) John lived on the mill lot at Sutton,
joining Singeltary Lake as it is still known today.
