[ancestors of Jennisons.FTW] [v19t1100.ftw] Richard, founder of this family in New England, was born in England in 1599. lf the old family tradition is true he was evidently the lost heir to the Dunham Estates in England. The family was referred to as "Donham, alis Singletary". He was in Salem in 1637, where he recived grants of land; removed to Newbury, where he joined the Church in 1638; and also received a grant of land, and again in 1640, he then retmoved to Salisbury in 1645, was a Selrctman in 1650, then removed to haverhill in 1653, where he received another grant of land and became a proprietor, was a selectman in 1655. When he died in 1687 the records sho that he was 102 ye ars old. lt was a custom to be of great age in those days, and if he 102 then his birth would be 1585. Richard was the 1st child of four. The immigrant an cestor. Came to Salem Village, MA about 1637. Moved to Newbury in Oct 1637. In Salisbury in 1645 and to Haverhill, MA in 1645. He died at age 102 years. n his birth would be 1585.
