Nathaniel Singletary 
Nathaniel was born on August 28th, 1644 in Salisbury,Essex,Ma.1 Nathaniel's father was Richard Singletary and his mother was Susannah Cook. His paternal grandparents were Francis Singletary and Agnes UNKNOWN; his maternal grandparents were William Cook and Martha Susan White. He had a brother and a sister, named Jonathon and Eunice. He was the youngest of the three children. He died at the age of 44 on August 13th, 1689 in Haverhill,Essex,Ma.1 General Notes

He settled in Haverhill, MA and was a planter. At one time he was lame,
records show "Dismissed from training for lameness in 1662", then about
18 years old. On the 13 Aug. 1689 a small p arty of lndians killed Daniel
Bradford, and then went to the field of Nathani el Singletary, where he
and his oldest son were at work. They shot and kille d Nathaniel, then
scalped him. His son John was taken prinsoner, but eluded t hem and
returned home the same day.
