George Edward Shafer 
George Edward was born on March 29th, 1882. George Edward's father was George Washington Shaver and his mother was Lucinda Judy. His paternal grandparents were George E. Shaver and Isabelle Rodgers; his maternal grandparents were William Judy and Sara Walkup. He had four brothers and six sisters, named William Alexander, Daniel Washington, Samuel Ely, Gilbert Christopher, Sarah Isabella, Mary Catherine, Margaret Elizabeth, Esta Jane, Rebecca J. and Rachel. He was the second youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 65 on November 25th, 1947 in Monroe Draft near Caldwell, Greenbrier County, West Virginia.-

George Edward and Flora were married in a religious ceremony on November 9th, 1910. They had nine sons and two daughters, named Joseph Arthur, Robert Lewis, Samuel Paul, William Bruel, Charles Ovid, Edward Earl, Elmer Ray, Harold Harding, Royd Boone, Mary Louise and Anna Lee.
