Walter Scott was born on March 6th, 1856 in Cherokee Co., Alabama.1 Walter Scott's father was Lemuel Jackson Standifer and his mother was Sarah Frances Underwood. His maternal grandfather was William Henderson Underwood and his maternal grandmother is Virginia O'Ferrall. He had two brothers and five sisters, named William Henderson, John Henry Milner, Leona Nancy, Ella Virginia, Augusta Georgia, Julia Florence and Ada Eugenia.
