Lafayette Ponder 
Lafayette was born in 1854.1 Lafayette's father was John W. Ponder and his mother was Winney Norwood. His maternal grandparents were Samuel Porter Norwood and Elizabeth Underwood. He had two brothers and a sister, named Abner, Andrew Jackson and Opal. He was the youngest of the four children. He had five half-brothers named William Coke, Reuben Franklin, Benjamin Telfair, Samuel Joshua and Joseph Solomon. He died at the age of 44 on September 13th, 1898.1 General Notes
