Robert Markle was born in 1868.1 Robert Markle's father was Joseph Markle Means and his mother is Margaret Ingram. His paternal grandparents were John Means and Susannah Whitesell; his maternal grandparents are John Ingram and Sarah Ridpath. He had four brothers and a sister, named Cassius Whitesell, Lithgow Brown, William Alfred, John I. and Ada. He is the youngest of the six children.General Notes
