Rainey Howl was born on May 22nd, 1921 in Edgewood, Van Zandt County, Texas.1 Rainey Howl's father was Grover Cleveland Counts and his mother was Sarah Gertrude (Gertie) Pearson. His paternal grandparents were Hasten Alexander Counts and Henrietta Virginia McAdams. He had six brothers and eight sisters, named Cleveland, G. C., Ike McA, Cleveland, Living, Living, Henrietta Marie, Living, Living, Living, Living, Living, Living and Living. He died at the age of 41 on July 15th, 1962 in Texas.1 General Notes
