William Thomas (Tom) was born on October 30th, 1870 in Roanoke, Roanoke Co., Virginia.1 William Thomas (Tom)'s father was Callahill M. (Calvin) Basham and his mother was Ludelphia Bethina (Bethyl) Creasy. His paternal grandparents were Elijah Basham and Lucinda Pagans. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Robert Hayes, Richard, Florence G, Sarah L. (Sally), Loma Esther and Lucinda. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 55 on December 30th, 1925 in Logansport, Cass Co., Indiana.1 General Notes

William T Basham (whom I knew as Uncle Tom) married Nellie Conrad a
nd we nt to Indiana where he owned and operated a medium to large farm ju
st outs ide Logan sport, Indiana. They had four sons; Roy, Stewart, Milto
n, and C larence. Both Uncle Tom and Aunt Nellie died in Indiana, and I w
ould assu me are buried in or near Logan sport. Roy eventually went to Al
aska and w orked for a gold mining company there. Whether or not he marri
ed I don 't know. I did hear, much later, that he died there. Stewart sta
yed on t he farm for a while and tried to run it alone, but gave up, an
d, if I reme mber, found work in Logansport, but how long he stayed the
re I do not kno w. I have no knowledge of what happened to Milton or Clar
