Sarah L. (Sally) Basham 
Sarah L. (Sally) was born on March 24th, 1875 in Virginia.1 Sarah L. (Sally)'s father was Callahill M. (Calvin) Basham and her mother was Ludelphia Bethina (Bethyl) Creasy. Her paternal grandparents were Elijah Basham and Lucinda Pagans. She had three brothers and three sisters, named William Thomas (Tom), Robert Hayes, Richard, Florence G, Loma Esther and Lucinda. She was the third oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 67 on November 17th, 1942.1 General Notes

Sarah L Basham (whom I always knew as Aunt Sally) married a man by t
he na me of Baker and had two sons, Collis and Alan. I don't know wheth
er she w as married in Va or not, but later lived in Logansport, Indian
a. I don 't know what happened to Baker; whether he died or whether th
ey were divor ced. (You know, divorce and illegitimate children were n
ot topics of conv ersation in those days).
Anyway, Sally two sons were fairly grown when Sally married Jake L
uc y, by whom she had one son, Ray, who still lives in Logansport, Indi
an a. In fact, I visited Ray last Christmas when I went to Loganspo
rt to spe nd Christmas with my niece, Martha, who now lives in Loganspor
t. Ray brou ght out a number of old pictures and memorabilia and I am su
re could te ll you much more about Uncle Toom's children and what happen
ed to them.
Ray is a widower and is in poor health. He is not a letter write
