Richard Basham 
Richard was born about 1879 in Virginia.1 Richard's father was Callahill M. (Calvin) Basham and his mother was Ludelphia Bethina (Bethyl) Creasy. His paternal grandparents were Elijah Basham and Lucinda Pagans. He had two brothers and four sisters, named William Thomas (Tom), Robert Hayes, Florence G, Sarah L. (Sally), Loma Esther and Lucinda. He was the third youngest of the seven children. He died about August 1935 in Charleston, Kanawha Co., W Va.1 General Notes

Richard Basham, I don't know much about Uncle Richard. The only ti
me I re member seeing him was one time when our family took a week-end tr
ip to Cha rleston, West Virginia, where he was living, to visit him and h
is famil y. He was married and had three children, one girl and two boy
s. He w as a sort of civil engineer, having something to do with buildi
ng roads, e tc. I remember much later my mother receiving an announceme
nt of his daug hter's wedding, and at that time they were still in Charles
ton, so in a ll probability he died and is buried there. Letter dated O
