Benjamin J. Allen 
Benjamin J. was born in 1822 in Louisiana.1 Benjamin J.'s father was Martin C. Allen and his mother was Elizabeth Vice. His paternal grandparents were John Benjamin Allen and Sarah Jane Sommers; his maternal grandfather was Nathaniel Vice and his maternal grandmother is Jermimah Unknown. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Miles Norton, James Bud, Martin Jackson, Anna C., Mary G., Elizabeth, Nancy, Sarah Ann and Carolina Eliza Matilda Cook. He was the second youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 69 on October 19th, 1891 in Hutto, Williamson, TX, USA. He was buried in Tombstone statememt, "Was one of the old Texas Veterans".1 1 General Notes
