His paternal grandparents were Steven Coerte Van Voorhees and Willempie Roslofse Seubering; his maternal grandparents were Willem VAN DER SCHURE and Margrietje PLETTENBURG. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Jan Albertse, Willem Albertse, Jacobus Albertse, Albert Albertse, Petrus Albertse, Petrus, Isack Albertse, Margritie Albertse, Rachel Albertse, Femmetje Albertse and Willemtje.
