Francis Leigh 
Francis was born about 1588. Francis' father was Sir Peter Leigh and his mother was Margaret Gerard. His paternal grandparents were Peter Leigh and Catherine Venables; his maternal grandfather was Sir Gilbert Gerard. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Piers, Radcliffe, Gilbert, John, Thomas, Peter, Anne and Catherine. He was the second oldest of the nine children.-
