Sir Peter Leigh 
Sir Peter was born about 1505 in Lyme, Cheshire, England. Sir Peter's father was Peter Leigh and his mother was Margaret de Tyldesley. His paternal grandparents were Sir Peter Leigh and Eleanor Savage; his maternal grandfather was Nicholas de Tyldesley. He had two brothers and a sister, named Thomas, Edward and Elizabeth. He was the oldest of the four children. He had two half-sisters named Cecilia and Anne. He died in 1570.General Notes
SIR PETER LEGH, of Lyme and Haydock, one of the Cheshire gentlemen, knighted at Leith, by the Earl of Hertford, in 1544, who succeeded his father, 4th December, 33rd of HENRY VIII. He m. Margaret, daughter of Thomas Gerard, esq. of Bryn, in the county of Lancaster
