Angella was born about 1366 in Kinderton, Cheshire, England.  Angella's father was Sir Hugh de Venables and her mother was Margery Cotton.  Her paternal grandparents were Sir Hugh Venables and Katherine de Houghton; her maternal grandparents were Hugh de Coton and Isabel de Heyton. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Richard, Thomas, William, Eva and Margery.  She was the third youngest of the six children. She had a half-sister named Joan.

‌Angella and Sir William VII were married in a religious ceremony about 1386 in Audley, Cheshire, England.  They had six sons and four daughters, named William VIII, Nicholas, Hugh, Matthew, John, Henry, Elizabeth, Margery, Joan and Eleanor.
