Roger was born on April 25th, 1287 in Thornbury, Herefordshire, England.  Roger's father was Edmund De Mortimer and his mother was Margaret Eleanor de Fiennes.  His paternal grandparents were Roger De Mortimer and Maud De Braiose; his maternal grandparents were William II de Fiennes and Blanche de Brienne. He had five brothers and five sisters, named William, Hugh, Walter, Edmund, John, Isolte, Maud, Alianore, Joan and Elizabeth.  He was the fourth oldest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 43 on November 29th, 1330 in hanged at the Elm, Tyburn, London, England.  He was buried in Church Of Grey Friars, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England.

They had three sons and eight daughters, named Edmund, Geoffrey, John, Margaret, Maud, Roger, Lady Katherine, Lady Agnes, Joane, Blanche and Beatrice.
