Reginald was born about 1178 in Bramber, Sussex, England.  Reginald's father was William III De Braose and his mother was Maud Matilda De Saint Valery.  His paternal grandparents were William II De Braose and Bertha de Gloucester; his maternal grandparents were Bernald IV De Saint Valery and Matilda. He had twelve brothers and seven sisters, named Robert, Roger, Giles, Thomas, William IV, Walter, Hugh, Henry, John, Bernard, Fulk, Philip, Flandrina, Matilda, Joan Alice, Margaret, Leucia, Isabel and Eleanor.  He was the tenth youngest of the twenty children.  He died on June 9th, 1228 in Brecon, Breconshire, Wales.  He was buried in Priory Church, Brecon, Breconshire, Wales.
