Agnes was born about 1040 in Barnstaple, Devonshire, England.  Agnes' father was Earl De St. Clare Waldron and her mother was Helena Le Bon.  Her paternal grandparents were Earl of Corbeil Mauger and Germaine de Corbeil; her maternal grandparents were III Richard and Adela (Alix) Capet. She had a brother named William.  She was the older of the two children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Neil IV de, Richard Thurston de and Billeheude de.  She died in 1080.

‌Agnes and William I were married in a religious ceremony about 1073 in Brienze, Normandy, France.  They had three sons and two daughters, named Philip, Adam, John, Matilda and Hortense.
