Princess of Castile and Läeon was born in 1198 in Läeon, Spain.  Princess of Castile and Läeon's father was Alfonso IX Fernandez and her mother was Queen of Castile Berenguela.  Her paternal grandparents were Fernando II Alfonsez and Urraca De Portugal; her maternal grandparents were Alphonso VIII 'the Good' Sanchez and Eleanor Plantagenet. She had two brothers and two sisters, named III, Alfonse, Princess of Castile and Läeon and Princess of Castile and Läeon.  She was the oldest of the five children. She had five half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Prince of Läeon, Martin Alfonso, Mayor Arias, Rodrigo Alfonso, Pedro Alfonso, Princess of Läeon, Princess of Läeon, Maria, Urracca Alfonso, Teresa Alfonso and Urraca Alfonsez.  She died at the age of 39 on April 12th, 1237 in Constantinople, Turkey.
