Thomas 'The Rich' was born about 1296 in Berkeley Castle, Berkeley, Gloucestershire, England.  Thomas 'The Rich''s father was Sir Maurice III de Berkeley and his mother was Eve la Zouche.  His paternal grandparents were Sir Thomas II de Berkeley and Joan de Ferrers; his maternal grandparents were Eudo la Zouche and Milicent de Canteloup. He had two sisters named Ela and Isabel.  He was the second oldest of the three children.  He died on October 27th, 1361 in Berkekey, Gloucestershire, England.  He was buried in Berkeley Church, Gloucestershire, England.
