John Cherry 
John was born in 1724 in Beaufort County, North Carolina. John's father was Lemuel "Samuel" Cherry and his mother was Mary Courtney. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Maund Cherry and Frances Ballentine; his maternal grandparents were James Courtney and Mary Jenkins. He had a brother and five sisters, named William, Mary Courtney, Rebecca, Mary Courtney, Rebecca and Courtney. He was the third youngest of the seven children. He had seven half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Charles, Cader, Lemuel, Solomon, Samuel, George, Willis W., Elizabeth, Abigail and Patience. He died at the age of 42 in 1766 in Tyrell County, North Carolina.General Notes
JOHN CHERRY, of Beaufort Co., N.C., was allowed on Nov. 6, 1766, his claim of œ80 for a Negro named Luke, who had been executed in that county, and as valued by the court, as by certificate filed. On July 20, 1781, he bought of Hugh Parker, at Wilmington, the boat Snake for 20 guineas. His army pay in the Revolution œ105.18.10, was receipted for by Timothy McCarthy. He appears to have d. before the 1790 census was made. He served in the Revolutionary was as a Private.

Jesse was born on July 4th, 1740 in Halifax County, North Carolina. He died at the age of 67 on July 28th, 1807.
