Mabel was born about 1172 in Cheshire.  Mabel's father was Earl Hugh Kevelioc deMeschines Earl of Chester and her mother was Bertha de Montfort.  Her paternal grandparents were Earl Ranulf deGernon and Matilda (Maud) fitz Robert; her maternal grandparents were Simon deEvreux the Bold Count de Evreux and Maud deMontfort. She had six sisters named Amicia le Meschines, Matilda, Agnes of Chester, Agnes of Chester, Alice Agnes and Hawise le.  She was the third oldest of the seven children.  She died in 1231 in Cheshire, Cheshire, England.

‌Mabel and William were married in a religious ceremony about 1189 in Cheshire, Cheshire, England.  They had five daughters named Isabel, Cicely, Nichole d', Maud d' and Agnes.
