Bertrada was born about 1059 in Montfort, Normandy, France.  Bertrada's father was Ld. Simon Montfort and her mother was Agnes of Evreux.  Her paternal grandparents were Almaric II Montfort Baron and BertradeGometz; her maternal grandparents were Ct. Richard of Evreux and Adelaideof Barcelona. She had a brother named Almaric III.  She was the older of the two children. She had a half-sister named Isabel.  She died on February 14th, 1117 in Fontevrault, , France.
