William was born in 1140 in Ferrers, derbyshire, England.  William's father was Earl Robert de Ferrers and his mother was Countess Margaret de Peverel.  His paternal grandparents were Robert de Ferrers and Hawise de Vitre; his maternal grandparents were William Peverel and Avice de Lancaster. He had two half-sisters named Bertha and Elizabeth.  He died at the age of 50 in 1190 in Acre.  He was buried in Slain in Normandy Civil Wars.1 



William's first family with Godehuet de Toeni

‌William and Godehuet were married in a religious ceremony about 1162.  They had a daughter named Isabel.


William's second family with Sybil de Braose

‌William and Sybil were married in a religious ceremony about 1167 in Sussex, England.  They had two sons and three daughters, named William deFerrers VI Earl of, Robert, Isabel, Agatha and Millicent.


William's third family with Margaret Perverel

They had a daughter named Agatha.
