William Shipley Sr. 
William was born on May 1st, 1729 in Queen Caroline Prsh,Anne Arundel Co.,Md. William's father was Robert Shipley Sr. and his mother was Elizabeth Stevens. His paternal grandparents were Adam Shipley and Lois Howard; his maternal grandparents were Charles Stevens and Elizabeth. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Charles, Robert, Lewis, George, Ruth, Keturah, Elizabeth and Sarah. He was the youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 65 in 1794.-
