Ranulf of Chester was born about 1100 in Gernon, Normandy, France.  Ranulf of Chester's father was Earl Ranulf III of Chester (de Bricasard  & Meschines) and his mother was Lucia Taillebois.  His paternal grandparents were Visc. Ranulf II of Bayeux and Maud (Margaret) of Avranches; his maternal grandparents were Lord Ivo Taillebois and Lucia Malet. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Ranulf, William of Lincoln and Adeliza Alice.  He died  due to Poisoned on December 16th, 1153.  He was buried in St. Werbug.


Ranulf of Chester's family with Matilda (Maud) fitz Robert

‌Ranulf of Chester and Matilda (Maud) fitz Robert were married in a religious ceremony about 1141.  They had a son named Hugh Kevelioc.
