Isabel was born on October 9th, 1200 in Pembroke Castle, Wales.  Isabel's father was William Marshall Earl of Pembroke and her mother was Elizabeth deClare Countess of Strigoil.  Her paternal grandparents were John FitzGilbert Marshal and Sibyl de Salisbury; her maternal grandparents were Earl Richard "Strongbow" deClare and Eva Princess of Leinster Countess of Ireland. She had three sisters named Maud, Sibyl and Eve.  She was the second oldest of the four children.  She died in Berkshirehamsted Castle, Hertfordshire, England.
