Joan Plantagenet was born on July 22nd, 1190 in Newark Castle, Nottinghamshire, England.  Joan Plantagenet's father was King John I Plantagenet ("Lackland") England and her mother was Agatha de Ferrers.  Her paternal grandparents were King Henry II of England (Curt Mantel) and Duchess Elbeonore deAquitaine; her maternal grandparents were Earl William de Ferrers , Earl Of Derby and Sybil Braose. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named King Of England Henry III, Richard Plantagenet, Richard fitz Roy of Chilham and Eleanor.  She died at the age of 45 on March 30th, 1236 in Court of Aber.  She was buried in Llan-Faes, Dindaethwy, Anglesey, Wales.1
