Romie was born on August 2nd, 1908 in Coosa Co., AL.1 Romie's father was Andrew Franklin Culver and her mother was Susan Missouri Bates. Her paternal grandparents were Nathan Andrew Culver and Susan Jane Bridges; her maternal grandparents were Francis Marion Bates and Mary Jane Holley. She had four brothers and three sisters, named William L., Roy, George Truitte, Samuel Emanuel, Evie Jane, Lily Sarah and Gracie. She was the fourth oldest of the eight children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Leslie and Elise Louise. She died at the age of 64 in January 1973 in Sylacauga, Talladega Co., AL.1 General Notes
