Delila Jane was born about 1826 in Clarke Co., GA.1 Delila Jane's father was John Jacks and her mother was Jane Maxey. Her paternal grandparents were William Greenberry Jacks and Delilah Young; her maternal grandparents were Hail Maxey and Dicey Craighead. She had seven brothers and five sisters, named Cass Anderson, Sam, Greenbury Hale, Young, Issac Marion, John A., Doctor Franklin, Lucy Ann, Mary Ann, Sarah Elvira, Emily Frances and Martha Karen Paralee. She was the sixth oldest of the thirteen children. She had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named James Monore, Archibald E., Margaret, Alabama, Alice Blanche and Melissa Eugenia. records that when Jane married William on 18 Jan 1846, she was 24 years
old and born in GA.
The 1860 Federal Census of Coosa Co., AL lists Jane as 32 years old, and
born in GA.
