Acenthia was born in 1808.1 Acenthia's father was Abner , Sr. Vance and her mother was Susanna Howard. Her paternal grandparents were Ephraim (Vause) Vance and Theodosia Hewlings; her maternal grandparents were Abraham Howard and Jane Allen. She had six brothers and seven sisters, named John, William, Richard, James H., Abner , Jr., Elijah, Tabitha (Tabby), Alena (Adina), Nancy, Millie Mary, Minerva, Sarah and Elizabeth.General Notes

Listed on the 1850 Logan Co., VA census as 42 years old. Jermiah was
listed as being 56, L. B. was 20, Thompson was 16, Wyndham was 13, Patsy
was 11, Jermiah was 9, george was 6 and Buenavista was 3 years old.
