Eleanora de Castile was born in 1240 in of Burgos, Castile, Spain.  Eleanora de Castile's father was St. Ferdinand III King of Castile & LeUn and her mother was Johanna de Dammartin Cts de Ponthieu.  Her paternal grandparents were Alphonso IX the Slobberer de LeUn King of LeUn and Berengaria Alfonsez Queen of Castile; her maternal grandparents were Simon de Dammartin II de Aum,le Ct de Aum,le and Marie (Jeanne) de Ponthieu Cts de Ponthieu. She had four brothers named Fernando de Castile, Luis de Castile, Juan de Castile and Simon. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Alfonso X the Wise, Felipe de Castile, Juan Emanuel de Castile and Eleanor (Margaret).  She died at the age of 50 on November 29th, 1290 in Herdeby (near Grantham), Lincolnshire, England.


Eleanora de Castile's family with Edward I Longshanks King of England

‌Eleanora de Castile and Edward I Longshanks were married in a religious ceremony on October 18th, 1254 in Abbey de Las Huelgas, Burgos, Castile.  They had four sons and twelve daughters, named John, Henry, Alfonso Plantagenet, Edward II of Caernarvon, Eleanor, Joan, Julian (Katherine), Joan of Acre Plantagenet, Margaret, Berengaria, Elizabeth, Beatrice, Blanche, Mary, Alice and Isabella.
