St. Ferdinand III was born in 1199 in Castile, Spain.  St. Ferdinand III's father was Alphonso IX the Slobberer de LeUn King of LeUn and his mother was Berengaria Alfonsez Queen of Castile.  His paternal grandparents were Ferdinand II de LeUn King of LeUn and Urraca Alfonsez de Portugal Cts de Portugal; his maternal grandparents were Alfonso VIII de Castile King of Castile and Eleanor Plantagenet. He had a brother and three sisters, named Alfonse de Molina, Berengaria de LeUn, Constanza de Castile and Leonor de Castile. He had a half-brother and four half-sisters, named Fernando, Urraca Alfonsez, Aldonca Alfonsez, Sancha de Castile and Dulce.  He died at the age of 53 on May 30th, 1252 in Seville, Spain.

‌St. Ferdinand III and Beatrice (Elizabeth) were married in a religious ceremony on November 30th, 1219 in Burgos, LeUn.  They had three sons named Alfonso X the Wise, Felipe de Castile and Juan Emanuel de Castile.


St. Ferdinand III's second family with Johanna de Dammartin Cts de Ponthieu

‌St. Ferdinand III and Johanna de Dammartin were married in a religious ceremony in 1237 in Burgos, Castile.  They had four sons and a daughter, named Fernando de Castile, Luis de Castile, Juan de Castile, Simon and Eleanora de Castile.
