Josiah Self

Josiah was born in 1815 in Gap Creek, Greene, Tennessee.  Josiah's father was Jesse Self and his mother was Agnes Dobson.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Self and Elizabeth; his maternal grandfather was John Dobson. He had five brothers and a sister, named Elijah R., Robert D., Lewis, Joseph, Reese V. and Lucinda.  He was the third oldest of the seven children.
