Nathaniel Harland Dow

Nathaniel was born on February 20th, 1845 in New Hampton, Belknap County, New Hampshire. Nathaniel's father was Levi Dow and his mother was Hannah Goss Drake. His paternal grandparents were Levi Dow and Abigail Godfrey; his maternal grandparents are Deacon Nathaniel Drake and Deborah. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Hosea, Sumner, Olwyn, Mary, Tirzah and Leonora. He was the sixth oldest of the seven children.

General Notes
- Nathaniel moved to Methuen, Massachusetts in 1864 and then to California in 1869. He finally settled in Wakefield, Massachusetts in 1871. There is a record of a marriage, supposedly his second, to Louisa Frances Smith, age 35, daughter of Rufus and Elizabeth. The date of this marriage is documented as August 15, 1893.
