Ann was born in December 1748 in St Stephen in Brannel, Cornwall and her baptism took place there on December 27th, 1748.  Ann's father was Ralph Vivian and her mother was Sarah Vercoe.  Her paternal grandparents were William Vivian and <Unknown>. She had four brothers and a sister, named Nicholas, Ralph, Joseph, Joseph and Joan.  She was the fifth oldest of the six children. She had two half-sisters named Jane and Frances.
