Richard 'The Red Earl' was born in 1259.1   Richard 'The Red Earl''s father was Walter De Burgh and his mother was Avelina Fitzjohn.  His paternal grandparents were Richard 'The Great' De Burgh and Egidia De Lacy; his maternal grandparents were John Fitzgeoffrey and Isabel Bigod. He had two brothers and two sisters, named William, Thomas, Agatha and Egidia.  He was the second oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 67 on July 29th, 1326 in Athassel.1
