Lemuel ("Samuel") Shelton Beene 
Lemuel, known as "Samuel", was born on December 5th, 1835 in Itawamba, Mississippi. "Samuel"'s father was William W. Beene and his mother was Isabella (Patton) Beene. His paternal grandparents were Lemuel Rufus Beene and Sarah (Sally) Beene. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Russell, Reuben, William, James, Samuel, Thomas, Obadiah, Sarah , Martha and Ida. He died at the age of 81 on July 1st, 1917 in Leon, Texas.General Notes
