Sarah 's father was William W. Beene and her mother was Isabella (Patton) Beene. Her paternal grandparents were Lemuel Rufus Beene and Sarah (Sally) Beene. She had eight brothers and two sisters, named Russell, "Samuel", Reuben, William, James, Samuel, Thomas, Obadiah, Martha and Ida.-
