Alexander was born in 1874 in Tweed River.1  Alexander's father was William McLeod and his mother was Hannah McLennan.  His paternal grandparents were John McLeod and Christina McDonald; his maternal grandparents were Farquhar McLennan and Janet McKenzie. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Farquhar, John, James, William, Kenneth, Christina, Christina and Kitty.  He was the fourth oldest of the nine children.  He died  due to e at the age of 80 in 1954 in Murwillumbah, New South Wales.  The funeral took place in 3999 and was arranged by n.  He was buried in 4999.2
