Philippa was born on March 31st, 1360.  Philippa's father was John of Gaunt (Duke of Lancaster) and her mother was Blanche of Lancaster.  Her paternal grandparents were Edward III Plantagenet (King of England) and Philippa of Hainault; her maternal grandparents were Henry Plantagenet (1st Duke of Lancaster) and Isabel de Beaumont. She had a brother and a sister, named Henry IV and Elizabeth.  She was the oldest of the three known children. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named John, Thomas, Catherine and Joan.  She died at the age of 55 on July 19th, 1415.
