Eleanor was born on November 15th, 1498.  Eleanor's father was Philip I “The Handsome” (King of Castile) and her mother was Joanna “The Mad” (Queen of Aragon).  Her paternal grandparents were Maximilian I (Holy Roman Emperor) and Mary (Duchess of Burgundy); her maternal grandparents were Ferdinand II (King of Aragon) and Isabella I (Queen of Castille). She had two brothers and a sister, named Charles I, Ferdinand I and Catherine.  She was the oldest of the four known children.  She died at the age of 59 on February 25th, 1558.
