Alfred (Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha) 
Alfred was born in 1844. Alfred's father was Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg & Gotha and his mother was Victoria (Queen of England). His paternal grandparents were Ernest I (Duke of Saxe-Coburg & Gotha) and Louise of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg; his maternal grandparents were Edward (Duke of Kent & Strathearn) and Victoria (Princess of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld). He had three brothers and five sisters, named Edward VII, Arthur, Leopold, Victoria, Alice, Helena, Louise and Beatriz. He was the fourth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 56 in 1900.General Notes
